This is now corrected and if you access the feed via the old URL you are welcome to update to the new feed url which includes the same super secret password used for the full blown interface.

(Swedish version below since I anyway wrote it in Swedish first, forgetting about having an English speaking blog nowadays)
After our Mallorca trip we had one week together in Zurich, I was back at office during daytime and Tanya temporarily tried life as housewife. We have also been dealing with different types of official documents for Tanya’s application for a residence permit, visiting Tanya’s relatives in Rorschach, improving the apartment with different IKEA solutions, and celebrating the Swiss national day in Appenzell during the day and at Nordiska in the evening.
Since one week I am left alone here in Zurich due to Tanya going back to her hometown Novokuznetsk. I am going there as well on Friday when I meet my parents in Moscow and proceed together to Sibiria. Mom and dad are already in Russia since they arrived in St Petersburg a few hours ago.
This weekend my main aim was to prepare a “wedding video” in order to bring it to Siberia next weekend. I have put together one long version and one short version. After encoding with H.264 it looks good quality wise and the file size is acceptable. I will make them accessible later in the gallery.
Yesterday my new Polish colleague Andrzej and I explored the city in the evening. Tonight I am looking forward to a pub quiz with two Irish guys and Sam at the local Irish pub in Wollishofen.
SWEDISH
Efter att vi kommit tillbaka från Mallorca hade vi en vecka i Zürich tillsammans då jag jobbade och Tanya fick roa sig på egen hand på dagtid. Vi ordnade med pappersexcercis för Tanyas uppehållstillstånd, hälsade på Tanyas släktingar i Rorschach, bättrade på lägenheten med fler IKEA-lösningar samt firade Schweiz nationaldag i Appenzell under dagen och på Nordiska i Zürich på kvällen.
Sen en knapp vecka tillbaka är jag dock ensam kvar i Zürich medan Tanya är hemhemma i Novokuznetsk. Jag följer efter på fredag då jag möter mor och far i Moskva varpå vi gemensamt flyger vidare till Sibirien. Mor och far är förresten redan i Ryssland då de landade i St Petersburg för några timmar sen.
Helgens stora projekt i övrigt handlar om att klippa ihop en film från bröllopet som är någorlunda njutbar. En del tid går åt till att lära sig verktygen men nu tror jag att jag har koll på grunderna. Jag har satt ihop en fullängds- och en nerkortad version. Efter att ha komprimerat med H.264-kompressorn fås god kvalitet till acceptabel filstorlek. Jag gör dem tillgängliga via galleriet senare där det även kommer att dyka upp fler bröllopsbilder vad det lider.
Här i Zürich roar jag mig så gott det går utan fru. Igår tog jag och nya polska kollegan Andrzej en sväng på stan efter att vi varit förbi Nordiska. Ikväll blir det pubquiz med Sam samt två irländska bekanta på den lokala irländska puben här i Wollishofen.
It might sound strange but neither Tanya nor I have been to a typical sun holiday trip like this. This is our first time at Mallorca and it is easy to see why it is a popular choice, especially for families with small kids.
It can not be much easier – eating, playing and resting is all within reach without any hassle. There are even personnel taking care of the kids for a few hours a day if the parents would like to do things on their own.
Even we as two adults who are able to organize things on our own and often need more stimulation than food and beach, can certainly enjoy it now. It suits us fine this week since this lack of organizing duties is in contrast to our first two weeks of holiday. Another benefit is that you get more interesting in “normal life” where there is a bit more of action and things to achieve later on, after the holidays.
So, what do we actually do these lazy days? Typically waking up around 9, having a massive breakfast, getting ready for the beach which is 5 min of walk from the hotel, spending the next three hours at beach, getting back to hotel, time for lunch, bringing our language books to the pool/garden area, studying an hour, fitness room for Jonas and beach again for Tanya, dinner at the hotel buffet, going for a walk and maybe staying out at one of the bars.
Yesterday evening there was a Beatles show at one of the bars nearby, a Swede (John) and an American (Paul) were entertaining and did it very well. It was an interactive show and the audience could request songs and give other types of input. Far better than expected.
After two intensive weeks which included a wedding and its preparations, we are now off to Mallorca for some relaxation. The aircraft is scheduled to depart in 30 minutes and the flight lasts for less than two hours. It is raining in Zurich but in Mallorca it appears to be 30 degrees and sunny.
It is unclear if there is wifi at the hotel but I have heard rumors that says it could sometimes be healthy to turn off some computers and smart-phones. Maybe I try that if there is no Internet access..

Arrived an hour late in the morning to Moscow and have been busy moving out of the Moscow apartment. We are trying to spread the things to friends in order to not throw it all away.
Tonight we had a good time with Yana, Peter and Natasha. Tomorrow morning we are going to Katya and around lunch time it is time to go to Podolsk for a wedding. Yes, readers with a good memory might recall Podolsk from January when Tanya and I stayed there since our flight to Novokuznetsk was delayed one day.
It is now 24 hours since I got on the plane from Frankfurt to Moscow to it is definitely sleeping time. I will try to report a bit more frequenty further on.
Last weekend there was a “bachelor party” (swedish: svensexa) for me here in Zurich. It included swimming in lake Zurich, barbecue, billiard and some bars. Andreas and Rasmus were here for a few days which was very nice. Rasmus and I did some running which I will try to continue doing. Today I ran to Nordiska for a quick workout there. That might be something I can repeat further on.
Since then there has been a lot of work since we have a big release coming up. On Friday evening I went to IKEA with two colleagues though, in order to add some storage capacity to my apartment. It took some time to assemble the wardrobes yesterday but the result looks okay to me and should make a difference when it comes to storing Tanya’s clothes and stuff. The only thing that is missing is the handles to the doors but for that I need a drilling machine which I will bring from Sweden next month.
Tomorrow is a public holiday here in Switzerland (as apposed to Sweden nowadays) but I will do it the Swedish way and go to work anyway. Work days without too many colleagues often turn up to be the most productive ones 🙂
I have read two books lately, “Den ofrivillige monarken” and “Svenska Hackare”. They are both worth reading if you understand Swedish and have some interest in the Swedish king and/or the Swedish hacker scene 🙂
On Thursday I am going to Moscow for a wedding and then we will move out of Tanya’s apartment and both go back to Zurich. Interesting times.

Last weekend we had a weekend with our parents in Moscow which worked out really well. Our parents met in person for the first time but everything went smoothly. Tanya and I had arranged with a two-room-apartment at Tverskaya in the city centre, where my parents, Tanya and I stayed while Tanya’s parents stayed in Tanya’s apartment. That was a good solution and we could use the Tverskaya apartment as a meeting place for coffee breaks etcetera.
Besides getting together and get aquatinted, we did some touristic stuff, like a bus tour through the city and a boat trip on Moscow river. The weather was perfect, around 20 degrees and mostly sunny. I had seen most of the places we visited but I had not seen Moscow International Business Center (Moscow-City), so at least that was new for me.
I hope to be able to add some photos in the web album soon.

Förra helgen hade vi en föräldraträff i Moskva vilket var mycket lyckat. Det var första gången de träffades och allt förlöpte smidigt. Tanya och jag hade ordnat med en tvårumslägenhet på Tverskaya, där mina föräldrar, Tanya och jag bodde medan Tanyas föräldrar bodde i Tanyas lägenhet. Det var ett bra upplägg som passade fint i och med att Tverskayalägenheten kunde användas som samlingsplats för fikapauser osv.
Förutom att bekanta oss med varandra gjorde vi en del turistsaker, bland annat en båt- och busstur runt om i Moskva. Vädret bidrog till att göra utflykterna lyckade. För egen del kunde jag lägga till Moscow International Business Center (Moscow-City), på listan över sedda sevärdheter.
Jag har inte lagt in några bilder i webbalbumet ännu men kommer att göra det inom kort.
These Mondays when I leave Moscow in the middle of the night and end up late at office due to production issues or similar, tend to be long days. Nevertheless, I am at home now and it feels great. Proper sleep needed.
I have been twice in Moscow since I wrote in the blog last time. This weekend we were mostly staying indoors since Tanya had hurt a heel. Hopefully she will feel okay tomorrow when she goes to the Swedish embassy…
The move-by-airplane process has started and this weekend I brought some of Tanya’s shoes and clothes to Zurich. Hopefully three more trips will be enough to bring the essentials. After all, there are shops in Zurich as well if new things needs to be acquired.
Today, when going back to Zurich via Munich, I discovered something I had not noticed before. It is the same aircraft which goes Moscow-Munich as Munich-Zurich. I know that it is not allowed but it would be very convenient to stay in the plane instead of running around at Munich airport for 30 minutes before getting back to the same seat.
English: I have installed CyanogenMod 7.0.3 on my HTC Desire and therefore run Android 2.3.3 instead of 2.2 which I used to run. It is clearly an improvement and is recommended for everyone with a supported mobile.
Next version, Android 2.3.4 which will be shipped with CyanogenMod 7.1, seems to be pretty interesting with support for audio and video in Google Talk.
Swedish: Nu har jag installerat CyanogenMod 7.0.3 på min HTC Desire så att jag kör Android 2.3.3 istället för 2.2. Det är helt klart ett lyft och kan rekommenderas till alla med mobiler som stöds av CyanogenMod.
Nästa version, Android 2.3.4 som kommer med CyanogenMod 7.1, verkar annars rätt intressant med ljud- och videostöd i Google Talk.
